about
Marika Collins is a Toronto based food and lifestyle photographer. Dreamer. Coffee fiend. Chaser of light.
"You don't take a photograph, you make it." —Ansel Adams
Marika is fond of cats, chocolate, old pewter plates, Paris in May, New York at Christmas, flea markets, craft bourbon, slivers of sunlight, peeling paint, roasted chestnuts, chipped enamelware, darkroom fumes, the silence of snow, salvaged wood, rain on the roof, and bedtime stories.
She's a storyteller.
Marika sees the world through the lens. Painting with light, she captures the moments between—telling a story through images. With a BFA in Still Photography, her work has appeared in shows and private collections around the world. She works out of her studio and on location—has camera, will travel.
She can add pictures to your story.
When she's not chasing the light, Marika can be found in the kitchen, elbow-deep in flour, or looking wistfully out the window with a cat in her lap.
She likes to eat.
